Terms & Conditions for Bantry Bay Charters


Payment & Bookings Information

Bookings must be paid for in full in advance of leaving the pier. We cannot guarantee your place on the charter should you fail to pay by this time.

You can pay for your booking:
* online when making a booking
* by cash on the boat 
* by card on the boat
* by cheque payable to Bantry Bay Charters

Cancellations

By Us: Whilst we make every effort to avoid cancelling trips, it may sometimes be unavoidable. We reserve the right to cancel a charter if viable numbers are not reached or due to adverse weather conditions or circumstances beyond our control. Should we be forced to cancel your charter you will have the option of changing your trip to an alternative day, keeping your adventure as a credit for future use or receiving a full refund, including your deposit. Please ensure that phone numbers and emails are correctly stated on the booking form and that you can be contacted on these numbers in case of cancellation.

By You: If you need to cancel your adventure please contact us, in writing, as soon as possible. We offer a full refund providing you let us know 48hrs in advance of your charter. Should you cancel after this time you will lose your deposit, if you postpone, your deposit may be used as a credit towards another charter date.

Group Bookings & Special Offers

For any discounts or special offers to apply, you must supply us with full details at the time of booking. To take advantage of any group discount all members of the group must book together, group members booking at a later stage will not receive the discount, Please note that discount should be agreed with the Skipper.

Weather:

All charters are subject to suitable weather conditions (the decision is made at the discretion of the skipper) and we reserve the right to cancel any trip due to bad weather (even at short notice).

Off-shore trips are pending on weather conditions. If inclement weather conditions prevail, it is up to the Skipper’s discretion as to whether the trip will proceed. You may nominate a full refund of deposit or transfer your deposit to an alternative date if your trip has been cancelled due to weather.

Transport & Arrival

Please meet at Glengarriff Pier, 30 minutes before your charter. We do not provide transport to this point.

Please note: Parking on the pier is often limited, but there is ample parking roadside along the harbour wall in front of the Eccles hotel.

In Bantry, parking at the pier is limited but there is ample parking at Supervalu and at the carpark at the end of Bantry Square.

Safety Brief:

A safety brief is given on board before departure.
Please bring along any medication needed (as some people may require special attention).
We have the right to ask any customer to wear a life jacket at any time.
All children under 16 are always required to wear a life jacket.

Number of Passengers:

Minimum number of passengers is 1 to make a booking. However, we require a minimum of 6 passengers for the trip to go ahead and in the event that no other individual bookings are taken for a particular date, a minimum charge of 6 people applies or individuals can nominate an alternative date or refund can be requested if we are unable to get the numbers required for the trip to go ahead.

Insurance

Bantry Bay Charters is fully insured with public liability. We cannot, however, be held responsible for
personal belongings. You may wish to take out your own insurance against personal loss.

Customer Behaviour:

It is required that all customers behave in a safe and respectful manner to all staff, other customers, and our property. If we find that there has been loss or damage to our equipment or vessel due to negligence or unruly behaviour, then the customer will be liable for replacement or repair of the item.

You will not be allowed onboard if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs and the skipper deems you unsafe to board. Your skipper has the right to cancel your trip at any point due to unacceptable behaviour – their decision is final and their instructions must be adhered to at all times for your own safety.

Additional Covid 19 Terms & Conditions

You must sanitize your hands before boarding and departing the boat we ask you please bring sanitizer with you if possible but we will have sanitizer on the boat if you do forget to bring some. All equipment and the boat will be disinfected before each trip.

If you have a cough or sneeze, please do this away from others either into sleeves or tissue and dispose of the tissue straight away in the bin provided.

If you have any symptoms leading up to, or on the day of your trip, you are to contact Bantry Bay Charters immediately and are not to proceed with your trip if it is within 3 days of your trip. We cannot give a refund but you will get a voucher so you will be able to proceed with your trip on another date.

Privacy:

All details obtained from clients i.e. Address, telephone numbers, email address etc are only used for the purpose of bookings and are never distributed or released to third parties.
