Owner and Skipper at Bantry Bay Charters. Growing up near the water in West Cork, getting involved in recreational sailing at a young age and with a strong push from my mother, I joined the Navy, where I qualified as an able seaman, (RIB) Rigid Inflatable Boats coxswain, where we were tasked with (SAR) Search and Rescue operations, search and rescue fishery protection and working with Customs in anti-smuggling operations.

After leaving the Navy, I spent three years as a commercial fisherman gaining the qualification of Full Commercial Skippers Ticket. I qualified as an offshore commercial diver. I was involved in running projects in the North Sea, The Arabian Sea, The Red Sea, The South China Sea, the Indian Ocean and various other locations worldwide. At present, I also hold a PADI/SSI Diving Instructor along with First Aid, Defib and CPR instructor and an ISA Powerboat Instructor qualification. With 30 years experience of the marine environment ecosystem, it is a great pleasure to have the opportunity to pass on some of that experience to the younger generation.
