We leave Glengarriff pier, cruising out past Garnish Island with the possibility of seeing the seals basking on the rocks. You may even see our resident Sea Eagle flying overhead and if we are lucky we could encounter a pod of dolphins in our wildlife rich Bantry Bay.
Whiddy Island is situated in Bantry Bay, off the coast of West Cork on the Wild Atlantic Way. It is approximately 5.6 km long and 2.4 km wide. The island has an approximate population of 20 people.
Whiddy is a quiet and beautiful place to visit. It is steeped in history so there is plenty to see and all walks are sign posted with information boards throughout. Bike hire available. Whiddy Island is a rustic paradise, untouched and unspoiled.
You can also stay on Whiddy Island, both in self catering houses and also, just last year, the Old School House was converted to a hostel and event centre.

'The Bank House' serves food daily during the peak season. There is no nicer place to be, than sitting outside the Bank House on a fine day, drinking a pint and watching the world go by in the distance.
